Non-stereoscopic VR mode for games that support head tracking
there are games that don't support VR but do support head tracking out of the box like arma 3 or the farming simulator for example.

my idea: make it possible to render flat games on the displays of the headset directly or on a virtual display that follows the players head movement in VR. then expose the tracking of the virtual headsets as head tracking input device for games that support head tracking.

that way we could have a kinda non-stereoscopic VR mode for all games that support head tracking.

might not be the same as a real VR games but it would be way better than regular head tracking because regular head tracking has one big problem: you can only move your head so far until you can't see the screen anymore which means the software has to translate small real head movements into kinda big movements in the game which makes it unprecise and uncomfortable to use. this solution wouldn't have this problem.
