While I agree with this idea, there is a person on this forum who will tell you that you can't have this opinion if you gave any awards.

I would prefer they expand the reward system and add more rather than removing it.

The award system is working as intended: generating traffic/engagement on the site. That's all Valve will be concerned with. If they are removed, Valve would most likely replace them with something that would be just as annoying for some users.

I would have loved if Valve had kept it simple and have a simple "+1" or "gold" award. But of course the kings of gamification had to turn the awards into what it is.

Unfortunately I don't think they're going away and are working just in the way Valve expected them to work. A bunch of trash is a small price to pay for all that 'engagment'

Hell, Remove it from guides! The guide system on steam is hot garbage.
