Better download options for installing a game on your PC
Recently Helldivers 2 made a tech blog post #1
Explaining why the game size is so large on pc.
Basically To summarize it here. The PC version is so large because they're making it compatible for both HDD and SSD.
I think a solution to this problem would be for steam to have an option for developers to make separate downloads versions, depending on if you're installing the game on an HDD or SSD.

I'm sure this change would help other games as well, so I feel like this is a great thing to add.

I'm puzzled as to why hard drives and solid state drives would require different files.

Edit: After having read the article, I still have no idea why they think duplicating files multiple times will make seek times shorter when all it does is make the amount of seeking required higher. Textures should be read from disk while the game is loading anyway, so it shouldn't affect gameplay at all.

Add ? we should not have to add anything, If they dink us around on ownership why should we put up with bad clients ?? Just saying.
