Gifts for friends
Hello, dear Steam team! I'd like to suggest a good idea that, in my opinion, would make gifting more efficient for both sides.
So, as we know, you can't really gift a game to person who is located in region with higher game prices. But why? Of course, in order to avoid resellers. But what if you could still gift games to people, just for the price they would have paid for them themselves?
As far as i know, this is a quite big problem, and many Steam users have had and are still having difficulties with buying something for their online friends. So why not change it? Just make a notification for user before the purchase, like: "The price is different due to the fact that the person who receives the gift is in a different region".

No it's not just to avoid resellers.

It's also about destroying your market, which means people will simply not sell their games or go tits up.

The simple fact of something like a developer having, say, a £10 game being sold at £1 in a different region means that people would (and indeed did) defraud things.

That's precisely why they stopped it.

various laws prevent this from happening.

Its not due to resellers but due to laws, issues with taxes and such.

If it was so simple it would be added years ago.
Bait and Switch laws say you cannot do this.

You pay the price you are shown.
The store CANNOT by LAW charge you something different at checkout. It does not matter if your ok with it, the LAW says NO.

In what world does that look aggressive in any way?

Don't confuse clear and frank speech with aggression.
