genre sort for steam library
🧩 Feature Proposal: Genre-Sorted Steam Library View
TL;DR: Let users sort their Steam library by genre — alphabetically grouped, user-filtered, with fallback sorting for untagged games.

🧠 Why This Matters
Steam’s current sorting tools are great for playtime, install status, and alphabetical order — but they don’t let us explore our libraries through genre. For designers, collectors, and players who think in terms of mechanics and theme, this is a missed opportunity.
Imagine being able to scan your library for “Metroidvania” titles and instantly compare how different games interpret progression and gating. Or isolate “Narrative Horror” to study how trauma is mechanized across titles. This feature would unlock thematic curation, mechanic analysis, and rediscovery.

🔧 How It Would Work
1. Genre Filter Panel
- Select which genres to include in the sort (e.g., RPG, Strategy, Horror).
- Optional subgenres like “Deckbuilder,” “Soulslike,” etc.
2. Alphabetical Genre Sorting
- Games grouped by genre, genre blocks ordered A–Z.
- Within each genre, games sorted alphabetically by title.
3. Fallback Sorting
- Games without matching genre tags appear at the end.
- These are sorted alphabetically by title.

✨ Optional Enhancements
- Collapse/expand genre blocks for cleaner navigation.
- Manual tag override for misclassified games.
- Integration with Collections or dynamic shelves.
