Start reading the suggestions forum
There's no evidence to say that any of you at Valve read the suggestions forum, so I assume this forum is much akin to a fax machine which manages to print out suggestions and feed them straight into a paper shredder.

Blame Valve Time.
They have made replies especially when it's something worth responding to, like when a thread was made about the Steam Deck and they were on top of the matter.
Reading and Responding are very different, and it's wise for them to not respond especially if for example individuals attempt to solicit responses over and over.

Prove they read these forums then. Empirical evidence only. I'll only accept examples within the last month.
there is nothing that says that they do not

i mean

they do not implement everything there

thank goodness

but i find it weird to think that

of the 300+ employees at valve/steam

none would ever visit the forums

i would not be surprised to find gabe surfing through

sup gaben,

if you are watching :UnholyEye:

The response to the Steam Deck thread in this section was over a month ago, you've been pointed to it before which explains the desire for the past month only. It also seems more frequent in the client beta/steam deck sections.
If you'd like to see how often they post or reply from any one account, you're free to look for yourself;

If you want an example that they do happen to be around, regardless of the section, to read and/or reply, even post their own stuff, here's a recent example from August 2025;

Only your suggestions, which are less suggestions and more just whining and complaining that Valve doesn't pander to your every whim.

I wouldn’t blame them if they only visited once and decided to never come back.

A previous reply to you from another thread.

When was the last time a user suggestion ended out getting implemented into Steam?

A user pointed out in this forum that patch notes on downloads disappeared once the download completed if the developer had supplied them.

Thread title: Patch Notes option to be visible after downloads are completed

Originally posted by VIP0R:
I've noticed that developers now have the option to display Patch Notes when games are updated, which seems to utilize the news feature linked to a game's page in your Library tab. This is a fantastic way to keep players informed about changes in the latest update, and I hope more developers take advantage of it.

Additionally, a Patch Notes link is now visible in the Steam Client's Downloads tab under a game's title when it's scheduled for an update. They also appear during the update process while the content is downloading.

However, once the update has finished downloading and it moves to the Completed column, the Patch Notes link disappears.

Would it be possible to keep this link visible even after the download is complete? This would allow users to read the Patch Notes after the fact, especially since some games are updated automatically when Steam launches.

Valve implemented that change and those patch notes now remain once the download completes.

As a sidenote: Tito has a list of changes implemented from suggestion threads.

As in not implementing your suggestions.

Suggestions are by definition, please consider this and not a promise of implementation.

Valve has implemented at least two suggestions I have made here for what it is worth.

Valve have stated back in the day that they do read the suggestion forums. But they very rarely post in the section.

Yeah, they "read" it. For "suggestions".

Read: They don't read anything, and anything that is implemented was already going to be implemented in the first place. Someone just happened to guess at the right time with a suggestion and it looked like Valve listened.

Oh, absolutely scathing! You have certainly got me with my absolutely terrible suggestions of...

*Checks notes*

Killing third-party DRM solutions off the platform and making sure that bigotry is cut-down on the forums entirely. O clearly you raise upon all others intellect and wisdom to which I could never possibly reach!

Or, if you want me to speak more realistically, get off your high horse.

Speaking to the users moreso to be just as angry that Valve implement nothing.

Kinda seems like a goalpost shift tbh.
"These forums" = steamcommunity, not a particular section of a forum.
The forums are not limited to suggestions. I showed one quick example, hotsauce previously gave you one from this section in a previous thread. Tito also gave examples in another thread. Etc.
They clearly do read, post, or otherwise at their own will.
They are not obligated to post to random suggestions nor to read them, and may or may not implement a suggestion at any moment. :smokeybear:
