A "Steam golden nickname" refers to the Golden Nickname item, which can be used to change your display name to a gold color, or the golden border around a Steam profile, which previously indicated an Officer status in a game's hub or group.

While the item can still be found and traded on the Steam Community Market, Valve removed the Golden Profiles from the Points Shop.

They accidentally put one of the golden profiles back on the points shop very briefly in 2023 before yanking it away again...

Oh, right. That makes sense. But then again, all Steam had to do was change the devs' yellow colors to something else. Bummer.

Btw, since you mentioned it being brought back, there's another fun thing I could share. I remember this one guy who bought several months ahead. The thing was taken down, he ended up using just one month and the rest of his points were tossed in the garbage. RIP

Just ignore that guy, he's a troll and he's also not even a paying customer, hence why his name appears as numbers. Nobody actually answered in your first thread as to why it was removed so it was fair to ask why. Anyway, now you know why, and sadly it probably won't come back, at least not with the golden name because of scammers. As usual scammers and gullible people mean the rest of us don't get as many nice things.
