Add an option to manually reset Steam achievements
Hello,

I would like to suggest adding a feature that allows users to manually reset Steam achievements for a game in their library.

💡 Why

Some players want to replay a game from scratch, with achievements reset to zero.
Others want to remove achievements obtained by mistake (bugs, unintended cheats, or accidental unlocks).
For reasons related to privacy or managing their public profile (for example, not displaying certain achievements that could be misinterpreted), this feature could be very useful.

Proposal

Add an option in the game settings such as
Reset all achievements for this game
With a double confirmation (and possibly a usage limit, like once every X months).

🔒 Safety

Resetting achievements should not affect leaderboards or global statistics if done locally.
This feature could be limited to single-player games to prevent abuse in competitive titles.
This option would greatly improve the user experience while giving everyone control over their profile.
Thank you for your time and hard work,
— A Steam user concerned about maintaining a clean profile

Game devs can provide a reset option for their own games.

steam://nav/console
reset_all_stats

Here's the first result I saw in a search for that command if you're not familiar with the console: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XDvOkLe940
Be careful doing it yourself with some games that may have triggers for unlocking again that break.

Is there a risk of getting banned ?

Okey, Thanks you for your answers
Developers have the option to reset achievements on the main menu of a game.

Mimimi have it for Desperados 3 and Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun so you can do speedruns.

Instead of a reset, I think it would be great to have a prestige type setup for achievements that allows you to earn a +1, +2 and so on for achievements for NG+ or a fresh start on the game your playing.
Games that allow different profiles might be another way to allow a prestige system.
I`m sure something like this can be done.

It would require changes to the Steam API and for every game on Steam with achievements to be updated to use those new API functions.

Right now, games are programmed with the expectation that an achievement is either earned or not earned. A lot of games synchronize their internal achievement list with Steam's when you open the game, which would result in a lot of duplicate credit.
