Gyro to Steering Wheel -- Imagine the potential
I hope someone from Valve comes across this.

First thing, I'd like to thank you Valve for carrying the PC gaming industry. The controller support in Steam is spectacular. In particular, your work on gyro gaming is a true advancement of this platform. Kudos.

With that out of the way, let me suggest adding gyro to steering wheel mapping.

I've been playing MotoGP 24 with gyro and it's a whole new experience. Same goes for other racing games, like F1. It is more natural than stick, involves multiple hand and core muscles. It transforms the racing game into a zen-core-workout.

However, right now the only option is gyro to stick and that's wonky. With a proper mapping of controller rotation to wheel, it could be superb.

I think F1 cars have 180 deg steering wheel rotation (F1 drivers cross their hands in full turn, if I recall correctly). They don't do multiple turns like normal cars. That has a very natural equivalent on the controller. And for those who don't want to move their hands too much, rotation scaling can be applied.

It would also work for rally, though, for this kind of game stick might have an edge. But having a good gyro option would add more fun nonetheless.

Hope this finds some friendly eyes.

this is actually already a thing, you can install a 3rd party controller program which can turn your gyro into a wheel , nintendo switch already has this as well for its racing games.

this concept is pretty old i would suggest a controller program to you however rules permit it, i would just simply search for some controller program options , many can be used with steam games and offer what your looking for. Also some even allow games which do not have controller support to be key binded from keyboard inputs into the controller to create its own controller support.

Good luck on your racing sim dreams.

I'd also like to see this being added. 3rd party software can do this but it is flagged by lots of game anti-cheats like f1 25. It would be cool if there's a gyro mode called "Steering Wheel" where you can select the rotation of your wheel (eg. 180, 270, etc), map out the maximum right and maximum left values (eg. rotate controller 90 degrees to the right for 180 degree steering wheel mode, click a button called "Set Max Right Input" and do the same for the left side). It would be awesome to see this added to steam.
