Option to toggle off award notification
Even though Steam gives users a lot of options to customize what kind of email notifications they would like to receive, it is still not possible to opt out of an email every time you give an award to someone. I would like to have that please, so I don't have to manually delete all that useless spam. Thank you.

Steam should notify you whenever your account spends something, be it money, wallet funds, points, whatever. It should not be an optional notification.

You can always create a rule or filter on your email to automatically handle those notifications when you get them.

good suggestion.
I ended up resorting to creating a filter in my email client to delete them automatically.

That would be an alternative - if I wanted to filter out every single notification by Steam, which is not the case. There are some kinds of content I want to be notified about, just not the fact that I just gave someone else an award, which I already tend to know...

A filter on my end does not solve the problem.

No. Steam should notify me about things I want to be notified about. Emails about events I do not care about should be optional. I don't understand why you would argue that it's OK for Steam to force me to receive this kind of irrelevant message, which basically amounts to spam.

Also, money from my wallet and award points are not even remotely comparable. What are you on about there?

Certainly not dismissing your suggestion. I too want better controls within steam so i don't have to resort to workarounds.

That said, an email filter can be more than just "everything from this address".
my filter looks for the address, and the word "award", so i still see every other email from steam.
