Fix the market bot issue, fake buy orders
I have noticed on quite a few occasions creating a sell order that matches the highest listed buy order, and as soon as I do the buy order disappears. Only way I see this happening is putting in a buy order for an item at a certain price then using a falsified credit card that will not have the funds, thus when someone lists at the price it disappears.

You can't use a credit card to purchase from the Market. It must be directly from the Steam Wallet only.

So, there goes that theory.

The OP was pretty close to how "bots" actually scrape the data to find when new buy orders are placed on a specific item and immediately a script removes the item and relists it at a higher price.

Just took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

Then it stands to reason the same could be done with buy orders to drive the price of an otherwise high value item down to buy it cheap.

No one wants to sell for less. The bots always go up in price.

And lowering the price too much flags them way faster by Valve.

That is, until now with the knives being dumped out of sheer panic.

Well I'm talking about Rust skins. What I meant is that if it is able to get information about a sell order that matches the buy order and then cancels the buy order before it can complete. It's happening far too often for me to be imagining it.

They do it with Rust items as well, yes.
