Crack down on off topic engagement/award farming posts
Steam really needs to start to crack down on engagement baiting or award farming posts. Some steam discussion boards have become completely unusable because the developer refuses to moderate and the board is now just a wall of bizarre unrelated or intentionally inflammatory political or opinion posts purely to get steam awards. Could give us an option to report a post as "This is not related to the board its posted in" or "This is not a post that encourages discussion" or even to be blunt "This is a post to farm steam awards". Would also help to be able to report a games discussion board as "This board is not being moderated"

I'm not sure why you need "options" to report a post if it's a big open ended text box already.

Unless the developer has explicitly told Valve not to moderate their forum, the global mods do handle reports.

Fair, maybe then we just need more focus on actual moderation. An options drop down box does help sort reports which might speed up enforcement.

They could utilize the option picker from the report function on profiles for forum posts.

I'm sure that then some people would complain about reporting taking "too many steps" but I'm all for it.
Valve has been totally consistent over the years that if a Steam board's front page entirely filled with topics about some specific nonsense, or even first three pages, there is nothing wrong with that and no need for them to take action. You are more likely to get banned complaining about it than people who make 10 more threads about the same topic.
