Allow filtering library by personally added tags
Currently, Steam lets users add their own tags to games, but there’s no way to filter or search your library using those personal tags. This limits the usefulness of custom tagging, especially for users who organize their collections with niche or highly specific categories that don’t exist in the global tag system.

Proposal:
Add the option to filter or search your library based on tags you’ve personally assigned.

This would make personal tagging much more powerful for organizing large libraries, tracking genres or moods that matter to you, and quickly finding games that fit your own system of categorization.

I had a similar thought. Though mine was to be able to alter the game name or something in your library so you can customize your game listing completely. For example I own all the Final Fantasy games but when I put them in a group together in my library they are not in chronological order due to their names. I would like them to show in proper order and figure simple name edit could fix this. With a library of over 500 games this could be very useful in controlling the organization of it.

On your collections screen, right click on a game/properties/customisation - scroll to the bottom -Custom Sort Name-. From here you can sort your games listing however you wish. I hope this helps.
Example use case:

I really enjoy local couch co-op games, and I already have 10+ collections to sort them by multiplayer type (Co-op/PvP), and genre (e.g., "Co-op Puzzle", "PvP Fighting", "PvP Racing", etc.).

Beyond that, I’d like to filter games by things like maximum player count (whether a game supports 2, 4, or 4+ players in split screen). I also own an arcade stick, so I’d love to tag games with simple, arcade-style controls that work well with it.

At this point, the number of collections I have already makes navigation a bit of a hassle. Creating even more collections for every small detail—like player count or control type—would only make things messier.

If Steam allowed filtering your library using your personal tags, it would solve this problem perfectly. Instead of endless collections, I could just add custom tags once and filter by them anytime I need.
