Feature Request: Play soundtracks in the Steam Mobile App
Hey everyone,

I’ve a few soundtracks on Steam, however, there's no option to listen to them in the Steam Mobile App. It’s definitely not a dealbreaker – having the music on PC is already nice – but being able to access and play them on mobile would be a great quality-of-life feature.

It seems like a really obvious and useful feature – especially considering how common it is to listen to music on the go. Would love to see this considered in a future update.

Copy the files to your phone and use its own player to play them.

Yeah, that works, but having it in the Steam app would just be one step less. More convenient and integrated.

+1
The steam app is already bloated and a battery killer adding in another feature will make it worse. Maybe a separate app like they did with chat.

The mobile authenticator was already stripped of the Chat functionality. This would require a separate app and that is pretty much redundant since your phone has a built in player itself.

I get the point, and I’m not saying it doesn’t work the way it is right now, I just thought it would make sense.

No. Steam does not need more bloat and does not need to be the Swiss Army Knife of the Internet.

As much as I agree that Steam shouldn't be this huge mega application that does anything and everything, as someone who does buy quite a bunch of OSTs here I'd love to at least have an option to download the soundtracks locally, even if it doesn't include a whole music player.

I was looking for this feature today. I couldn't believe there was no download or streaming access to our playlists. Seems like such an obvious slam dunk feature.
