I never have any issues, i play this game daily. I was playing while an update launched. I closed game, waited 5 mins. No update. I restarted the client, waited 5 mins, no update.
I am left with no choice but to verify integrity of game files to force the steam client to recognize the game needs updating.
It would be much simpler, if i could just right click the game and select "Check for update"
No. It was not there. It updated after the verify integrity process.
This game is set to highest priority. Tbh, this is not the first time i have struggled to force an update. Usually just as an update is released and i was in a multiplayer game.
To clarify, do you have an issue with the suggestion that steam should have a "check for update" function in the games library? I think it would be very easy to implement this feature, it wouldn't cause any problems with the steam clients cpu/ram usage. It would ONLY solve this issue when it occurs. It is not possible that this would be a bad feature. Granted, it may be seldom used, but it could ONLY be a positive thing.
If you verify files, it checks your installation and if errors are found it downloads and fixes those errors. That does not mean it is an update.
And yet, doing this caused the application to update afterwards. Strange.
Never had that happen on my PC in 17+ years on Steam.
WE NEED A CHECK FOR UPDATE BUTTON FOR MANUAL UPDATE CHECKING
