[Linux] TF2 Won't Run. Missing OpenGL extension
I am running the Linux beta client in Gentoo Linux, and TF2 doesn't run giving this message "Required OpenGL extension 'GL_EXT_texture_sRGB_decode'" I am aware that Gentoo is not officially supported in the beta, but what Ubuntu package contains the required extension? Is this an error that has arisen in Ubuntu or any other distro?

Have you tried getting the lates drivers for you card, and maby the lates openGL drivers form their site too?

I remeber having to install a lot of things when I tried Ubuntu.

I'm having this EXACT same error when opening TF2 and I installed Steam (and TF2) on Ubuntu. Still trying to find a fix...

Have some WinE.
Download the Steam for Windows installer, run winefile and double-click on steaminstall.msi
Won't run as fast, but it will try to pretend its on windows as much as possible and doesn't require that you join/enable the beta.
Halfe-Life 1 plays perfectly... TF2... not so much, but it tries. Your mileage may vary.
