Half Life

Is Half Life 2 a combination of Half Life: Episode 1 and Half Life: Episode 2? I wanna make sure I purchase the right thing, if I decide to purchase.

Its a series, not a combination:
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 1
Half-Life 2: Episode 2

So, they are three different games? I would have to buy Half Life 2, Half Life: Episode 1 and Half Life: Episode 2 if I wanted to have the whole Half Life 2 story series?

Yes. All of them end on a cliffhanger btw, even episode 2.

They are all each their own game, but you can buy them all together through the Orange Box (which also includes Portal, huzzah).

A la carte:
Half-Life 2 $9.99
Episode One $7.99
Episode Two $7.99

Bundle:
The Orange Box $19.99

Yeah. I have played various role playing games: Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls, ect. I am looking for more like them, and I thought I'd try the Half Life series. I want to buy Half Life 1, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, and all Half Life 2 games. If you have any more games like the ones listed above, please list! I am starting to enter the world of PC gaming, as I am mostly xbox 360.

You Know there is a bundle for that. Type in the steam store: Half-Life Complete and you will find all the half-life/ Half-life 2 games in there! Oh and by the way, the half-life series are not RPGs, just a heads up.
