I show up on someone's friends list and they show up on mine but I never added them...or them me.
I'll admit, I still have a LOT to learn about Steam and how it works and the like. But just now I noticed that a person I never added or he never added me is on my friends list and I'm on his. Now I somewhat know this person so he's not a complete random add. But I just magically showed up on his friends list and him on mine. So is it a glitch possibly?... or who knows, I'll learn something new today about Steam.

Ask him how you met, or what chatroom. Maybe you were helping eachother out on some co-op games?

But wouldn't I have to accept his friend request or him request mine? I got no notification. I just looked on my friend list and he was there. And yes we were on a chat room but I don't see how he got on my friend list.

Perhaps the date can help you out.
Look at your entire page view of yoru friends list. should say "Friends since: <date>".
It could be you sent the invite years ago and thats the date he accepted, or he sent the invite years ago and thats when you accepted.
Other than that try asking the guy.
If he's not responding remove him. If he re-ads it was meant to be.

Weird... I got that aswell. It was Kenny the Otter that randomly appeared on my friends list. Although it can be pending requests but mines wasn't or maybe it was but that might be that problem

Well the weird part was that I never gotten any notifications whatsoever. But it's not a big deal I'm just kind of curious
