Steam friend online but not visable
Ok, i'm just going to start another topic about this issue as i haven't been able to find any fixes or reasons to why this happens.

But i have a friend on my list, my cousin to be specific. The issues consists of him never showing up online on my list, even though he clearly is. Even weirder is that his Steam profile page is set to public, but if i navigate there, its gives me the "this users has not bla bla bla" even though his options are public.

I have tried removing him and re added him, which usually makes him show up, until next time we log on and he is offline again even though is he online. And its only him, the rest on my list show up fine.

Ask him to delete clientregistryblob or powercycle his internet?

Does he show as offline, busy or away?
Perhaps its your settings (which should ideally reset once you remove him).

On HIS screen, do you see anything unexpected?

One thing to try is to right-click his name and pick "Send Message...". Maybe he accidently blocked you, or you blocked him. Type anything and it should at that point let you know for sure. Can you both join a public steam group chatroom?. Others in the room might be able to see whats going on.

How are you communicating now? Messages on your profile pages? Do you live near eachother? Phone calling? (Does steam voice-chat work?)

We need more info.

I will make him try that solution.

He shows as offline every time. If he closes his Steam client and reboots it, i can usually see him.

As far as i know i am not blocked on his client, but i will ask him to double check again. I know for sure he is not blocked on my end.

Have you both tried signing in and out of your friends list?

Yeah multiple times, also tried adding and removing, which works. But after he reboots lets say next day, the issue is back.

But that only works in the steam client, if i go to his profile on steamworks.com or in the community tab in Steam client, it will still say his profile is private. Even though its set to public.
