If you haven't gotten through the chapters then you can't pick them as starting points.
I presume you at least enjoyed the inbound tram ride and the "happy" button at the security guard's desk. If you immediately saw two scientists from starting a new game then I have no idea what you have done. Perhaps you're at the test chamber. The two scientists there are supposed to open the door for you.
Also, there is always a way to the next step of the game. Might take several reloads or skillful jumping, but it always helps to look around.

There was no train ride when I started and one scientist in the room says nothing and another says "I'll stay here." I've also explored the room and there is one other thing. There is a door with a password lock but it wont open. There were some other things like switches but they don't do anything.

Now one thing... how do I revert back to regular Black Mesa? I tried the uplink restore but nothing is happening.

I need some help reverting back to regular Black Mesa.

I realized I had Black Mesa Uplink installed and I need help going back to regular Black Mesa.
