Skip Steam Guard?
I'm just trying to log in, and Steam Guard REFUSES to let me log in. I'm using SteamCMD, not the Client nor the Web Browser, nor the mobile app. I use my phone to verify, and for some Godforsaken reason, some dev decided this is not okay and I cannot POSSIBLY be trying to log into MY account using MY PC and confirming it on MY phone. What am I supposed to do?!

In short, how do I skip Steam Guard, because this piece of server space waste does NOT work.

"This sign in attempt appears to be a malicious actor" then let me LOG IN REGARDLESS by pressing a button, like any other app allows me to! If I want to log in, LET ME LOG IN!
HAHAHAHAHAHA I HAD TO SET MY PHONE'S VPN TO SOMEWHERE IN MY COUNTRY WHAT IS THIS BULLSH?! I guess there is NO possibility of some "malicious actor" being located vaguely in the same timezone as me, huh? What's next, gotta post my full legal name and home address so I can start games?!

How do you not see how that could be a problem?

A sign in attempt comes from one country but the phone with Steam guard is in another county all together. How else it the system going to take that? Other than it being a malicious login attempt. You can't be in two places at once...

That is the system doing it's job.

You cannot. I don't know this SteamCMD thing; maybe you need a new version of that...

2FA is meant to keep other people out of your account; it would be rather pointless if Steam added an option to log in without 2FA...
How much of it can be disabled once you're logged in (so future logins don't use it anymore), I don't know.
Steam Guard working as intended and doing its job.

Section 3 A Steam Subscriber Agreement forbids the use of VPNs anyway, so this is not a concern to Valve.
The fact that you can't get around it is literal proof that the system *does* work

I doubt Gabe Newell will raid my house and bash my skull in because I have a VPN on my phone, which EVERYONE should have. The fact I can't say "Yes, this was me, I consent and take up all risk" when I already pressed APPROVE, while it tries to pull this "select the correct option, WRONG they're all the wrong option" game is annoying af.

Just because something doesn't work doesn't mean it works as security. Sure, welding a door shut is safe, but then it's not a door anymore. And if that door is the only way in and out, congrats, you're locked out.

Only this isnt a welded door. This is you getting annoyed that you need to actually put in your passcode to get into your gated apartment complex.

So you think it is better if they allow a hijacker in instead? Valve cannot completely be for certain that it's you who chose to region hop and not an account thief.

If your account is based in Germany and a sign-in is detected from Cuba then of course the 2FA is going to block the attempt.

Hijacker? If they have both my PC and my phone, they can already log in.

Then why make me play the game of "guess which button to press" when they'll block it anyway? Just have it say "hey, the location is too different, please turn off your VPN or set it to a similar location."

What hijacker is going to have your full credentials and physical phone in their hand? This Guard restriction works under the premise that the user's login and authorisation are in 2 vastly different locations which would indicate a hijacking has occurred or an attempt which is why it gets blocked.
