Community Market Issues
Hey everyone I hope you are doing well !
So not too long ago my account got hijacked while it was online on my browser and (steam guard didn't do anything) and I had put 100$ in my steam wallet.
Rookie mistake I know : ( but I hadn't been using steam for long and I was still inexperienced with Steam. Point of the matter is, my wallet went from 100 $ to 0.16$ and the Hijaker bought 119 identical common Dota 2 items that he had on sale.(Sadly because Valve decided to hide the name of the person selling the items there was no way to know who did it or to report the person). Steam support said it was my fault and they can't do anything about it or like help with the codes I own that I didn't even use I just put them on the wallet. XL. They only told me to secure my account and deal with it. The only thing I could do was sell my items in the marketplace and I did put them up for sale but now Steam has blocked me from entering because "I sent too many request " and the last request I sent was 2 months ago. Anyone got any tips ? I'm still salty about the hijaking since it's a big amount to lose just like that I ain't ever putting a penny in my steam wallet without spending it immediately :steamsad:

"Sent too many requests'' happens when you hit an API limit....

Oprindeligt skrevet af Ettanin:
You hit an API quota limit. This quota limit is IPv4 based. If restarting your router doesn't help, you'll have to wait it out.

IPv4 addresses are not unique anymore. As there are more humans (8 billion) than IPv4 addresses (4.2 billion), ISPs have chosen to route users together on an identical IPv4 address. This technique is known as CGNAT.[en.wikipedia.org]

For Valve's inventory and community market API this bundled together group of users using CGNAT or Dual Stack Lite looks like a single user.

If you waited several days to weeks, your only recourse is getting a public IPv4 address. It doesn't matter whether this one is static or dynamic. Ask your ISP on how to obtain one.

If you are behind Dual Stack Lite (shared IPv4 address, dedicated IPv6 prefix), temporarily disable IPv4 on your system after you made sure IPv6 support is enabled in your router to force Steam to use IPv6. Undo this step after you finished using the market or inventory (you will have to redo it every time you use either). Do not use this as a permanent solution because not every service on the internet did implement IPv6 support yet.

If you already have a public also known as dedicated IPv4 address, you should stop spamming inventory actions.
