Steam Overlay NOT saving on Guide I'm creating
So, IDK if there's an easy to describe this problem. I will try. I've been writing a guide for a game I'm currently playing. But having to exit and re-enter the game to constantly update the guide is tedious, repetitive and annoying.

Oh the guide HASN'T been published yet, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I thought that I could use the Steam overlay (pressing Shift & Tab) to make this easier.

Oh BTW, BEFORE you ask, I'm playing this game (the actual game title doesn't matter) on a laptop.

So, I've gone to the "activity" section of my profile and to my guides.

When I enter text, (any text) into the guide and then press "save", I find that if I go out of the game, for instance to upload a screen shot (because i can't for the life of me find the ones I took using the Steam screenshot tool) I also find that everything I've written whilst the overlay was open has, in fact, NOT SAVED, and I find this infuriatingly frustrating!

If there is any experts who can suggest a work around for this, I would be glad to receive your assistance.

The issue might be related to Steam Overlay not saving text in guides when you exit the game or use other Steam features. To avoid this, try saving changes immediately after writing, without leaving the overlay. You can also use the Steam website to edit your guide, which should ensure your changes are saved. Try clearing Steam's cache and verifying the game files. If that doesn't help, you could temporarily disable Steam Cloud and see if it makes a difference. As a last resort, you can use a text editor and paste the text into Steam later.
