Secondary SSD Steam Library completely gone
I hope I'm posting this to the right category.
System info:
OS: Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon
Linux Kernel: 6.8.0-63-generic
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor × 6
Memory: 15.5 GiB
Hard Drives (total): 1500.3 GB
Secondary SSD: ~1000 GB

I was installing Winboat to run Valve Hammer World Editor through a VM with it still showing a standard window, and after restarting my PC due to it freezing for a second my Steam library got completely deleted. the files are still there, it's just that Steam doesn't recognize it.

If you tell me "just use Windows", politely ♥♥♥♥ off, I cannot afford to deal with any of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ anymore

This isn't necessary.

And when you react like that, they win. And it's off putting towards anyone who might actually help. It's telling that this was the only part of my response that you quoted. You are more focused on how people will react to you than your actual problem that you need help with it.

Good luck.

yea I've recently been trying to prevent myself from falling for ragebait
also i've JUST fixed this

if anyone finds this thread and has the same issue - I unmounted the SSD and mounted it somewhere else, Steam decided to work again after that
Try

Close Steam
Rename the steamapps folder to steamapps_old
Open Steam
Create Library where you want it
Close Steam

2 Options

Option 1
Delete the new Steamapps folder
Rename steamapps_old back to Steamapps
Load Steam

Option 2
Cut, Not copy, CUT the contents of the Steamapps_old folder and paste inside the new Steamapps folder
Delete the Steamapps_old folder
Load Steam
Check that you dont just need to add steam lib again, happend to alot of windows user already, what cause this has been blaimed on remote drives and system crash in windows so it recover free space, how this matter to linux user i do not know, talk with the linux master at steam own linux group, just because you emulation windows sometime windows ways can effect the VM in how it do it.

"Secondary SSD Steam Library completely gone" not the first time ppl had to remap lost steam library on a drive.
