Windows 11 & Dx9?!
How do I start Dx9 games on windows 11?
no DirectX 9 games that run perfectly fine on my A750 @ Windows 10, will not even start on W11
DirectX End-User Runtime doesn't help at all

i dont know if this can help you

To run old games on Windows 11, use compatibility mode by right-clicking the game's executable file, selecting "Properties," and choosing a past Windows version from the "Compatibility" tab
Try:
  1. Press Win-r.
  2. Type "optionalfeatures" in the "Run" window and click "OK."
  3. In the "Windows Features" window scroll down to "Legacy Components" and be sure it and especially its sub-component "DirectPlay" are checked.
  4. Restart PC.

Already tired... Sadly no, it does not help.

Did you check the box "Run program as administrator"?

No game needs admin rights to work... and i don't play Kernel zero games, so no i will not give admin rights to a game.... I can understand a game needing admin rights if it needs to install some drivers or whatever but otherwise screw off.

No clue what's this but it didn't do anything, at least nothing changed
First time i tried to enable this directplay, i got error 0x800F0916, 2nd time it was successful.
I would attempt to repair Windows to be sure files are not corrupted:
  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
  2. Type:
    DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  3. Wait for operation to finish
  4. Type:
    SFC /scannow
  5. Wait as before
DirectPlay is a deprecated component of DirectX that is necessary for old DX9 games but is no longer used.

You got it from here?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

This is the only real solution to running DX9 games on Windows 11. If this hasn't solved it for you, there must be something else that is non-DX9 related.
older games sometimes need admin rights yes, thats a thing. not bs.
especially if your games are in the programs folder, which is read-only without admin. thats why my games are always on a 2nd drive or partition with 'everyone' read+write permission since WinXP

I get your point but sadly not the issue
stopped installing games on OS partition about over a decade ago.
Could you name a few of the games that dont run?
gonna type out only Steam, since this is steam forum
Don't work:
DoA5LR
Lightning Retunrs Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy XIII
Work:
Front Mission Evolved (installed just to test, havent touched it in like 10 years or something like that)
The Last Remnant

Hmm, DOA5LR runs without problems for me.

Lightning Returns does not but apparently that is a known problem for 2 years and happens both on Windows 10 and 11.
There are some workarounds but apparently not everything works for everyone.
But its not limited to Windows 11.

Just tried Lightning Returns because it's the only one I have installed and it ran fine under Win 11,
