New to Steam — small setup questions about privacy & controller settings
Hi everyone,
I’m Myroslav Mokhammad Abdeljawwad, pretty new to Steam and still getting comfortable with all the settings.

A couple of quick questions:
1. When I make my profile public, does that include my game library automatically, or can I keep that private?
2. For controller setup — is there a recommended way to save different profiles per game, or do most people just use the default configuration?

I’ve been reading through the menus, but some of it’s still confusing. Any small tips you wish you’d known early on would help a lot.

Thanks in advance!

You can keep your game details private.

1. look at the options below the main profile privacy option for the Game details for specific options
This category includes the list of all games on your Steam account, games you’ve wishlisted, your achievements and your playtime. This setting also controls whether you’re seen as "in-game" and the title of the game you are playing.

and

Always keep my total playtime private even if users can see my game details.

2. depends on the game and whether they have full, partial or n controller support. How you do that is personal preference. I tend to stick to defaults IF I'm happy with what they are. For others I tweak but then I prefer to stick to Keyboard and mouse for the majority of games

As to you reading menus and stuff the best thing I can suggest is to try them out. Practice help you remember and become better as using them.
