Steam friends list not opening at all and showing 0 friends online. also offline mode is not working
Running into several persistent issues with Steam, The problems started randomly, briefly went away, then returned, And all the issues are related to the friends tab in some way

The issues:
Friends list won’t open at all clicking it does nothing.
Always shows 0 friends online, even when I know people are online.
No profile pictures for friends who are playing.
Offline mode doesn’t work selecting it does nothing.
Status auto switches to “Away” after a few minutes, even while actively using Steam and my PC.
When trying to message friends from their profile instead it does nothing also.

This is becoming a real problem since I can’t message friends or even appear online properly. Anyone else seeing the same issues? Any confirmed fix beyond the usual reset steps?

You have issues with the Steam client related to friends and statuses. It could be due to corrupted files or sync errors. Try restarting Steam, verifying file integrity, running it as admin, and toggling Steam Cloud off and on. If that doesn’t help, a full reinstall might fix the issue while keeping your games and saves.

yeah i already tried all that, even reinstalled steam completely, but the issue still happens. it’s not just on this pc either, it happens on my laptop too. i also tested another account on the same installation and that one works fine.
