Steam overlay is wonky
Hi, I am Terry, the wife of Terje whom this account belongs to. I am playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and I put money in my hubby's wallet to purchase moonstones. I keep getting an error saying that the steam overlay is disabled, yet it is clearly enabled. I have tried restarting steam and restarting the game multiple times and still having the same issue. The Dreamlight shop is about to roll over, and if I miss out on the moonstone deal, then I will be needing a refund for 600kr of it, because that deal will be gone in about an hour or less. So please fix this.

Run Steam as administrator and verify the game files that usually fixes overlay issues even when it's enabled.

OK did the run as admin and just restarted the game and nope still saying it's disabled. I want that moonstone bundle and it won't allow me to make a purchase without the overlay.

Is that a ingame tranactions, sense it ask for a overlay most work.

And have it worked before, ?

ps.
All steam firewall port's most be open or it will not work.

We have seen ppl change isp and other firewall issue can cause issue, but most never has change anything or need to, more a why it could block a transactions.

Dont forget we are steam users here.

Overlay can be turned off for individual games even when overlay is turned on in the main steam settings. May be worth checking your settings for both...

*Steam ->Settings -> In Game -> Enable Steam Overlay while in-game

*Right click on the game in your library list -> Properties -> Enable Steam overlay

Weird thing is that I never turned it off on any individual game, yet when I did what you said, sure enough somehow it was off for only DDV! Thank you so much for your help, it got me back in the shop in game.
