That error usually happens for a few common reasons:

The item was sold or removed right before you tried to buy it(Steam listings update fast, so try refreshing the page and checking if it’s still available).

Your Steam Wallet or payment method might have a temporary issue or restriction(try reloading Steam, verifying your payment info, or adding funds to your Wallet first).

Steam Market restrictions: if your account is new, recently had password/email changes, or hasn’t had a purchase in the last 7 days, the Market can be temporarily locked.

Region or currency mismatch: sometimes an item listed in another region’s currency can cause that error.

Try restarting Steam, making sure you’re logged in properly, and checking if you have any market restrictions under Account > Market. If none of that helps, wait a few hours, it’s often a temporary Steam-side issue.
