Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a weird issue with my Steam Deck since today. Everything works fine at first, but as soon as I open any game page in my library and try to install a game, the Steam and “…” (three dots) buttons completely stop working. And the installing proces wont start at all.

Here’s what exactly happens:

The Game Mode UI itself continues to work — I can still move around menus, but the Steam and three dots buttons become unresponsive.

It doesn’t matter whether I try to install the game or not — the issue appears right after I open a game in my library.

When this happens, I also can’t switch to Desktop Mode anymore (desktop loading freez).

In the settings, the options for Language and Time Zone are missing. (empty bars)

I can start the installation of a game through Desktop Mode, but it always freezes at around 90% completion.

When the issue happens and I close Steam, I can still hear the fans running, as if something is still active in the background.

What I’ve already tried:

Hard reboot (holding Power for 10–12 seconds).

Launching Steam from BIOS after reboot.

Removing and testing without SD card.

Checked for updates — SteamOS is fully up to date.

The rest of the UI works fine, and the system doesn’t freeze — it just seems like something breaks in the Steam Game Mode layer once a game page is opened.

Has anyone else run into this or found a fix?
