Duplicate help
I need help.
I have been trying to get any, ANY of my steam games to download and work- I have since given up on this. Instead, I have turned my attention to deleting those files and making room on my computer for other projects. In doing so, I noticed that my numerous attempts at getting two different games to download properly, I had created many duplicates. Yes, I uninstalled each of these games before re-downloading them as I attempted to get them to work. From how many duplicates there are, I don't think any of them actually uninstalled. Now I don't know what to do. I run Ubuntu as my software so none of the windows solutions are going to work. I just.

If I can't play the games, I want to delete them from my computer so they aren't creating clutter.
I still haven't figured out why the games didn't work in the first place, as I had more than enough space and data for both games on my hard drive. They would download, I'd open them, they'd run for a minute without opening the game, then close. Steam even shows that I 'Played X game for 1 minute' even though it never actually opened.

If anyone can help with either problem I'd really, really appreciate it.

NVM I FIGURED IT OUT!
1. Go to game
2. Hit settings>browse files
3. Go to steamapps in the file chain thing
4. Go to Applications
5. Find the game file, it should be the title of the game.
6. Move it to trash, then EMPTY YOUR TRASH!
7. No more duplicate game files! :D now to figure out how to play the damn games.

You did everything right deleting from the steamapps folder clears duplicates. Now it’s time to fix the game launch issue.
