If you're referring to the hijacking file that people run on their computer thinking it's a screenshot, no, it may have installed keyloggers or other malware anywhere on your computer. You need to clean it much more thoroughly, run several different virus and malware scanners through it, and possibly even reinstall your OS or reformat the drive depending on what has been installed.

Otherwise, if you miss something the hijacker could simply retake the account in the future again.

I've scanned my pc with CCleaner and MalwareBytes, if its not enough I'll just reformat my computer. I got too careless, thought it was a normal img file.

Use actual virus scanners too at least, like avira, avast, panda etc. (but only ONE at a time.)

Really though, if you think about it, the only indication you may have that it was "not enough" could be another hijack.

I also scanned with avast, ermm, Malwarebytes detected a lot thought that I deleted also. Hope this won't happen again, I'd be really careful now.

The safest policy you can adopt is just not to open any links any user sends you in the future. Even if a friend sends it to you, their account could be compromised itself, or a hijacker could have made a duplicate account to fool you with. Hope your problem's solved now. :)

Why not do the safe thing, format, reinstall, learn for the future.

Yes I really learned from that incident not to click on random things. Just a question though, is it possible for my items to be retrieved? I've sent a steam support ticket yesterday with a print screen of the trade history.

Fake image sites are just a new way bots try to steal Your account also if a friend clicks on it there account may also send you the link think of it as chain scamming.The links look like WTF? followed by the image site then a number like 12 or so.

It all comes down to the users not having good internet security. Downloading random files, not having script blocking and a good web browser.

Hopefully these experiences make people learn, but most of them will not, and scammers will continue to have easy targets and continue to do what they do.

It all comes down to users not using their brain. No software on this world can save you from your own idiocy.

Also using your head never hurts I have been targeted by scam bots at least two times when you get a fishy link ether leave it or if You want google seaching it will bring up topics on redit,steam .etc saying stuff like PSA,scam,new phishing scam .etc.Also make sure you use search and dont go to the site.

I would rather suggest to use Common Sense 2014 as primary security.
