It might not even be a Steam problem. It could very well be your ISP. ISPs can have issues that don't fully take down the internet. Routing issues are more common then you think.

But the fact the you are signed into something (phone, website) to make this post most likely means it's a computer related issue. Try reinstalling the Steam Client.

been looking around for a while now about this kinda topic but this is the first one i have found so new but i am wondering if anybody can help me out. For the last few months i have been stuck on the verifying update screen and thats as far as i can go. Spoke to steam and have reinstalled now 3 times and still nothing they have said the only option left is to complete fresh install of windows which i dont want to do if i can help it anybody know of another fix so i can finally access steam and play my games i would be very grateful

I can log in to Steam in Chrome, but stuck at the login process in the Steam Web Helper.
I tried tons of solutions from the internet, but it still doesn't work.
Including:
Clear Cache in /local/steam
Clear the log & appdata folder in the Root folder
Reinstall Steam
Update the GPU driver
Update the Network driver
Flush DNS
Manually set DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4
Reset the network by Windows
Resync the time at Windows
Add -tcp in the shortcut

Even updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11, but still doesn't work.
Can anyone help me, please?
Or I should wait until the next Steam update.

you have some logs you can check on steam, they are located in steam/logs
i guess you will be able to find your answer from some of them ...

Did allmost the same stuff. Also reinstall steam complet . Client still not working. It loading and loading, but did not connect.
