15 day trade hold

Can I equip and use a knife traded to me without mobile authenticator for 7 days? It'll get a 15 day trade hold, but will I be able to use it? I'm trying to buy a knife on a 3rd party website for cs2 but I don't want to have to wait a week.

No.

If you don't have the mobile authenticator enabled for at least 7 days, you have a 15 day hold.

After 15 days, you will have the knife.

But people keep telling me I can buy and equip a knife but just can't trade them for the 15 day hold

What happens to trade holds?

If you confirm trades without using the mobile app, your items will still be held for 15 days. These items can be consumed, modified, and transferred immediately after the trade hold expires.
