Buy stuff or have points awarded to you. Although one would think the main point of a game store is to sell games. So for most people they're going to have points as a side effect.
Anyone not wanting to buy games, but also wants to tinker with their profile... may not be a demographic of concern.

Quality posts get awards too
None of it is a guarantee like buying things through the Store, though. Some have been able to harvest a lot of points by buying in-game items like CS capsules and then reselling those capsules on the market. They get the points from the purchase and then recoup most of the item cost through the market sale.
Please don't bait for awards though or try through low effort means. We have enough of those people already.
