Smarter way to gift games?
I really enjoy gifting games, but it's driving me absolutely nuts because I have several friends in Europe or Canada and the prices are different. This is fine -- I don't really take issue with paying more or whatever -- but when I try to buy gift games, Steam doesn't tell me that a game has a regional pricing difference that prevents me from sending it.
I get why it does it, but when Steam blocks me, it doesn't tell me which game is being blocked. It also takes me all the way to the purchase screen before telling me and then as a result of having to guess I get locked out of purchases for a while.
This seems like a terrible way of setting up gifting. Why doesn't Steam tell me what items have regional pricing differences so I can just avoid it? Is there a smarter way to gift games than just desperately trying to find ones that don't have differences? (this appears to be way more prevalent with small indie games, which is why I'm often getting so many, since they're cheap and fun)
