How do I get Steam Points?

Whenever you make a purchase on Steam, you'll be given Steam Points based on how much you spend. First, we convert this amount to USD, which then converts directly to the number of points you receive.

You will not receive any points for funding your Steam Wallet or for any Steam Community Market purchases.

You can also get Steam Points if someone from the community grants an award to one of your user reviews or other uploaded content such as screenshots, videos, guides, or Workshop items.

If you don't have much money, you can earn points by contributing to the community. People can award you points for different things, whether it's a cool game review you wrote, help you provided in a forum, or if you're very skilled, even for an item you published in the community workshop. The fastest way is obviously by buying games. But people can reward you for things you've done or said.

PS: Just don't get to the point of farming points by doing just anything with the sole intention of being rewarded; the more genuine it is, the better.
