Unfortunately, Valve only offers credit cards verification for it at the moment.

So they haven't bothered with doing anything to allow German users to use the verification method they have in their country and that's been several years, but they'll come up with a way to allow the more intrusive than a credit card methods the UK allows?

Seems far more likely it's get a credit card or your out of luck.

Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if that the route they choose later on for Germany if it meet their requirements, otherwise might be more to it that require on Steam end to give access to Germany gov, or 3rd party. Anyways time will tell.

US is getting hit at some point as well, and others afterwards.

Lol sort of, but if you have some form of income that high enough for their lowest tier credit card that be enough to handle all your needs, and they're basically free with no fees.

If you're on welfare, disability, or etc benefits that should be enough to count towards getting a credit card.

I suggest to OP to try checking Aqua, Capital One, Vanquis, and Tesco see if any will approve for small limi credit card.

Can you not just use a debit card which has a Visa or Mastercard Llogo?

Nope, apparently how it is setup with debit card issue by bank you can get one at age of 16 in UK which is the reason why doesn't work, and why they require you to get a normal credit card that requires you to be 18+ to get one.

isnt a credit card where you borrow money from the bank with a high interest rate? pretty sure hitler was actually trying to prevent that and now steam is forcing it, god they're more evil than hitler

You dont need to get one you pay for each month. Mine has no fees and a 7k limit.

does not exist......there are always fees.....at best you have a card that only has fees on the months you hold a balance.....

Fees and Interest are two separate things. A fee is something either charged on a fixed regular bases (annual/monthly fee), or on certain types of charges (cash advance, foreign purchase).

Interest is a completely different thing because while it's frequently charged when someone doesn't pay their bill in full, it's also usually charged on cash advances from the moment you take the money (in addition to the fee).

In the UK, credit cards can only be issued to those that are 18+ years old. This is true of many countries.
Debit cards usually can be issued to younger people, the exact age depends on the country.
