Things to check:
– Network type: Make sure both your PC and VR headset are on the exact same band (e.g., both on 5GHz Wi-Fi, not one on 2.4GHz and the other on 5GHz).
– Router settings: Some routers isolate devices from each other by default (called “AP isolation” or “client isolation”). If that’s enabled, Steam Link won’t work.
– Firewall/antivirus: On your PC, make sure Steam has permission through Windows Firewall (both private and public networks).
– Test wired vs wireless: If your PC is on Ethernet and your VR is on Wi-Fi, that should work, but if both are on Wi-Fi, performance can vary.
If nothing else helps, try creating a hotspot from your PC and connect your VR to that — if it works, then the issue is definitely with the router’s settings, not Steam.
