I open steam, most my screenshots are gone, I've restarted steam and my pc...still gone :(

uploaded maybe, but my local stored images have been mostly wiped out of no where

Not much Valve can do about what happens on a user's local machine. But this is the whole point of backups. If the data wasn't worth backing up, for years, well that's pretty much saying you don't care if anything happens to it. If that's not true, you might look at preserving data you don't want to disappear if a disk fails, or a user makes a mistake, or a program mistakenly removes the data, another local user deleted it, the house burnt down or anything else that could possibly happen that makes a single point of failure a big risk.

If the data is gone, well there's a lesson to learn there.

If you only kept your stuff local, and not upload it at all then that be the problem why couldn't get it back if you happen to do one of the following.
- Uninstall Steam, which it delete things.
- Deleted userdata folder in steam folder for some reason.
- Didn't restore userdata folder back in steam folder, when moving things around.
- Used 3rd party app of some kind that delete things for you.

So if you wanted to keep screenshots, just upload them no reason to wait it out, if you enable to have popup for screenshot manager when exit the game, can upload on the spot.

I REMEMBER RENAMING USERDATA TO FIX A BUG I HAD!, ill test that right away, i still have it!
