Steam Recording: Microphone TOO LOUD and with popping?

Hello. I just went over 7 hours of footage I recorded with Steam's new recording feature, and found the microphone to be on full blast. Very loud, sensitive, and filled with popping.

Is there a way to dial it in without reducing in-game voice chat volume?
