Report a profile form doesn't load
I naively accepted a friend request from a stranger and they sent some racist, abusive and harassing messages. When I try to report their profile (in app and on browser) a box pop ups and then infinitely buffers.

Obviously I blocked the user in question but I'd very much like to report them as well. I feel strongly that the only way these sort of people will stop harassing others is if there are actual consequences for their actions.

Pretty dystopic that someone can call you a n***** and you can't even effectively report them.

Is there another way to report them?

Thanks

You do realise that by quoting the offensive comments, you can be banned / warned as well, right?

I wouldn't worry about being unable to report them. Chances are high it's a spam bot or another malicious user who is sending the same message to other users who likely reported them as well.

Unfriend him and block. what he msg you privatly is already explanned by steam nothing they can do about it.

also why random invite from steam user is a issue, steam might want to add AI with you have same game or other tip why he add you or have same post in a forum.

feel free to ask steam suggestion and ideas with it. dont aspect me to post or tell steam about what we other think could be nice to kknwo before you accept a friend request.

im sure they other helper here willagree with me, impossible to know why some user add us from a post we might have made for years ago. or give user taht doa freidn request with why or from where he befrined nother steam user , it might be logigcfor humans with reference but this is not normal communications.

same wehen you ask a stranger , if you do not make the right gesture that convaersation is over faster then you can say what the hell just happend here, ( logic for us, in invite as friend ist not. )

I self-censored the word and the context I've used it in is very clearly non-abusive. But if Steam want to ban me for that then they can go ahead; it wouldn't be out of keeping with the rest of my experience as a black person dealing with overt racism.

Also, it wasn't a spam bot. It was very clearly a (toxic) human upset about a negative review I posted on a game they love. So, yes, I will worry about not being able to report them because this behaviour is harmful and, therefore, unacceptable, and should be punished, not minimised.
