But you should know what you are doing, if the key is being abused, it allows for scammers and other bad actors doing various stuff with it if they have access to your account.
If you don't really need it, let it empty.
Yeah, gonna have to agree. The api key has specific uses, and most regular users don't need to bother with it and it should be blank. In twenty one years I've had a Steam account I've never had a reason to throw a random key in there, or otherwise have the api key populated at all.
So, if you're sure you understand the risks and consequences, and are sure you're qualified to determine what legitimate use is, proceed. Otherwise take a second look and really think about what you understand about the subject.
Because limited accounts can't access the API, correct.
