Valve Index Headset

I got a question about the Valve Index Headset. I'm thinking of buying it (mainly because I want to Half-Life Alyx Music Kit in CS2), but I am unsure about the return process and everything. I know there are already pages talking about hardware return policy, but I just want someone with experience to confirm there isn't issues, I get my RMA label easily, I can contact support if I don't get my money back, I just need to know generally the basics and if it's simple/easy or not. Please let me know if you had prior experience and if there is anything I need to be aware of.

You still need to play HL Alyx for about 5 hours and the music kit should appear in a few days afterwards.

So, buying and returning the Headset/Kit just for the music kit will probably not go the way you want it to.

Am I able to just stay in game and not do anything for 5 hours, and then just wait for the kit? And also, posts have said that you don't even need 5 hours either so I'm unsure if that's true or not.
