Games only run on external screen.
First of all I'm not sure if this is the right place so sorry in advance if this is not the place for my issue.
So now to my Problem.
Some games especially UE4 games, some Unity games and TModloader immediately crash on my laptop screen but run just fine when i switch to my second monitor (They crash regardless of the 2nd monitor being plugged in or not).
I'd like for my games to run on my laptop screen so that i don't have to constantly look to the side to play games so I'm hoping that someone here has any idea on how to fix this.
My laptop is the Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r0175ng.
most relevant specs:
- OS: Win11
- CPU: Intel Core i7 13700H 13thgen
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 5200 DIMM
- ROM: WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD 2TB

I have tested the following (and probably more i can't remember):
- Disabling intel graphics, worked but causes the PC to lag
- Disabling hybrid mode in BIOS, worked but causes PC to lag
- Reinstalling drivers both Intel and Nvidia, worked as long as either or both were deinstalled stopped working as soon as i reinstalled them and restarted
- Wiping and reinstalling Windows, didn't work
- Some changes to Vulkan don't remember what exactly, didn't work

Other info:
- Originally this problem didn't exist and eventually appeared, I first noticed it with TModloader.
- Not all games were affected at the same time. For example i played astroneer twice and it suddenly joined the non working games at the third time, i didn't manually update drivers in between, there might've been a windows update though.
- The games used to Run for some time even with both monitors, it didn't immediately start once i got myself a second monitor
- It doesn't appear to be a Virus or Malwarebytes and later Bitdefender failed me
- Some games like BO6 think that i switch my PCs hardware with every (PC)restart
- Some games work for a short time after reinstalling my drivers but stop after they (the Game) receive an Update i.e. The Elder Scrolls Online
- The games crash as soon as they're on my Laptop screen opening them on my second monitor and moving them in windowed mode to my laptop screen crashes them as soon as the first bit of the windows would appear on my laptop screen

thank you in advance for helping or at least trying to help me.

Sounds like a GPU issue with hybrid graphics (Intel + NVIDIA). Try this:

- Force games to use the NVIDIA GPU
->Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics
->Add the game EXE, set it to High performance

- Make sure your laptop screen is set as “main display”

- Try launch options
-> In Steam: right-click game > Properties > Launch Options
-> Add: -dx11 or -force-d3d11

- Reinstall NVIDIA drivers clean using DDU
-> nvidia.com/Download

Update BIOS if possible from HP’s site.

More likely the intel integrated gpu no?
But since each of them work when run individually I atleast hope that it's more likely a software issue with the hybrid setup.
When i say work i mean that everything looks normal and the games start but the performance tanks.
Btw the laptop screen runs on the intel and the external screen runs on the Nvidia.

Sorry if I'm late but I've got the same problem as yours on a Victus 16, were you able to fix it?
