lost account
Hi i lost my account resetting my laptop, however i have a horrible memory and have no idea what my user is, i know my display name but i was a kid making my user. i also apparently don’t have the email it’s made under bc i tried to reset it under there as well and… nothing. I reached out to support but doubt they’ll be able to help since… i only know my display name. if u guys have any tips plz plz plz let me know

You need to provide Support with at least the email or username. It's the only way for them to determine which account you are attempting to recover. They're not just going to assume which one you are wanting. The onus is on you to provide it.

well yeah, i figured as much, i was just asking if there was any ideas or like other ways i can find my user i guess? just seeing if people had any out of the box solutions

Nobody here can help you other than Steam Support. If you were the original account owner you should have had your information saved somewhere for safe keeping, if the account was that important to you to begin with.

In the steam client click on Help > Steam Support. Best of luck!

You should be able to sign with your email but then you'll need a password or do a forgot password to recover your account once signed in you should be able to find your username. I concur 'best of luck'.

I'd suggest looking through old Steam emails but you said you don't have access to that email, or can't even remember what it was. The username is not a publicly available piece of information for a good reason.

definitely should have but unfortunately didnt lol, unfortunately i think my account is a lost cause
