You can't use quotation marks ("ending" doesn't work), and the old method of using +'s (+ending+) also does not seem to work any longer.
So it looks like you cannot use an exact match from WITHIN steam discussions, BUT:
If you use a search engine and constrain its results to a particular website, it should still work. I don't remember what the exact usage is for google (don't use them anymore), but I think it's something like site:www.site.com.
So, something like this entered into google might work:
site:www.steamdiscussions.com gamename "ending"
Edit: It's not actually steamdiscussions.com...it might be best to go to your game forum, copy the web address, then paste that after the "site" and you can skip the gamename portion of the search since you'll already be in the appropriate discussion forum.
