I am trying to get hdmi vrr working on my TV, TCL R646. I am using the official dock. It is enabled on the TV, but when I turn the slider on deck side(right side menu can’t think of the name) the output to my TV is flicking on and off. I bought a new hdmi cable that is 2.1 but the issue persists.

I know the official dock is only HDMI 2.0, but I’ve read mixed things about people getting vrr to work through hdmi. Don’t know if that’s bs or not, although probably.

My question is should I try a DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter as this seems it’s a bandwidth limitation with the official dock? Just before I drop over $100 on a dock with HDMI 2.1. Does anyone have experience with this?

If all else, I could just order a dock AND adapter from Amazon and return what doesn’t work for my little experiment, but if someone knows that would save me the hassle and that would be great.
