Installing from disc
I have about 20 plus games that I purchased over the years when they came out on disc. I own them, have the key code, installed and played them just fine at the time. Now when I try to install them from my disc steam wants me to download from them. It won't recognize the disc. I want to be able to install from the discs without always needing to have an Internet connection. I paid for the games and already own them. How can I bypass steam or disable it so the games load from the discs like they were originally designed to do? I don't care if they're updated or not. Its almost as if steam hijacked the games I specifically paid to have a physical copy of.

Why is that? I already own all the game files. Maybe if i took steam off or used a computer without it the computer would recognize the game like it did before I ever installed steam. It should be able to work without it.

whats on the disc is a BACKUP-file and they used to have a different format that has been recoded since and the data on the disc is useless. even if it was still the same version as today. the client can not read them and yes you agreed thats what you get for buying the disc
