Unable to send gift to friend
When did Steam start restricting regionally sending games to a user? It was telling me due to the price difference I could not buy the game, I have bought gifts for this friend in the past with no problem, this is a new error.

its not new. its been there for years. if the price difference is greater then 10% between regions, you cannot gift.

Games are not all priced the same way. Some may cost more in other regions than usual. In those cases, you may not be able to gift it across regions.

Oh, I see So the game being on sale made a difference then

The work around is to buy a steam gift card (from the steam store page) and gift that. I usually just round up and gift a card amount that would let them buy the game themselves, even if they end up with a couple extra dollars from the card I don't care that much (or I wouldn't be gifting in the first place)

So if their regional price would be $9 gift them $10 and they can buy the game
